Best Places to View the Eiffel Tower

Let’s be real – if we’re traveling all the way to Paris you know we need to get an incredible view and shot of the Eiffel Tower.

It’s an iconic landmark that people travel thousands upon thousands of miles to photograph and see. It really can be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I know the first thing I did when I arrived in Paris at night was to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. It was truly breathtaking!

What most people don’t know is… there are some great views and photo op spots hidden around Paris for the Eiffel Tower.

I’m sharing them with you – so get your cameras ready and your Instagram filters set.

Underneath the Eiffel Tower

Ah this one may be obvious.. but none the less it’s one of the many views of the Eiffel Tower! It’s incredible to see it up close. I loved standing at the bottom of the tower during the night and it’s the best way to photograph it up close.

Seine River Cruise

I haven’t done this myself but there are a ton of river cruises on the Seine River that will take you around Paris!

You can get some of the best picture and views of the Eiffel Tower during the day and night. Most of the cruises even serve lunch or dinner and drinks on board. I know it may seem touristy but if it’s your first time in Paris – it’s definitely something to check out.

Drinks and a view of the Eiffel Tower? Count me in.

Palais de Chaillot

This is the building right across the street from the Eiffel Tower! You will see a bunch of people posing on ledges and standing on the steps to get the perfect picture of the tower in it’s entirety.

This is the image I have featured for this blog post! The best time to go to take a picture is early morning/afternoon or late at night. Be careful when going mid-day to evening as there are usually major crowds.

The Arc de Triomphe

This one you’ll have to work a little harder to get…. the Arc de Triomphe has 284 steps to get to the top. But I promise you the view is worth seeing! You can see everything from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower to the

It’s one of the most amazing views!! But… I should warn you that you will need to climb about 387 steps to reach the top of the tower.

Put on your best walking shoes if you want to get this photo – it’s totally worth it.

  1. I’ve never visited Paris. I will be soon and it’s useful to know these alternative places. I will definitely be going to the Eiffel Tower. However, I’ve heard it’s overrated as it’s too crowded. I will try one of these options too. Where was your favourite place?
